Role Overview
The Keyholder plays a vital role in maintaining excellent store operations while prioritizing customer engagement and pet well-being. Keyholders help deliver outstanding customer experiences by recommending appropriate products and services to promote healthy and playful lives for pets. They share responsibility for driving profitability and managing store functions including opening and closing procedures, especially in the absence of management.
Responsibilities
- Serve as cashier and engage customers in sales transactions.
- Process merchandise orders, banking, and related paperwork accurately.
- Stock smaller merchandise items (under 10 lbs) such as pet supplies and household products on the sales floor.
- Perform general store upkeep including sweeping and dusting.
- Assist in unloading deliveries with items weighing up to 50 lbs and restocking inventory.
- Open and close the store following company protocols.
- Assign daily goals and tasks to sales associates (ACEs) when managerial staff is absent.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support store operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in retail or customer service roles.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Friendly and outgoing personality with strong customer service focus.
- Physical capability to repeatedly lift weights up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable transportation to and from the store.
- May require a valid driver’s license.
