Job description
Mission
Within the secondary school, operating under the head of school and in support of educational teams, Educational Assistants (AEDs) contribute to supervising and monitoring students' educational progress. They work under the Deputy Heads of Student Life (CPEs), who manage the school life department and organize AED schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee student supervision from their arrival to departure, including during recess, lunch, and school outings, ensuring student safety and welfare.
- Record and communicate student absences and late arrivals, and contribute to analyzing attendance for student follow-up purposes.
- Enforce adherence to school regulations and safety policies.
- Monitor student detentions, including Saturday morning sessions.
- Manage and animate activities within the college and high school student common rooms.
- Engage in various extracurricular educational, sporting, social, artistic, or cultural activities.
- Support preparation and delivery of educational activities alongside teaching staff, including assisting with study and homework support.
- Help cultivate a positive educational atmosphere that encourages respect, tolerance, and student well-being.
- Assist in organizing examinations and academic competitions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department beyond those described.
Education, Experience, and Skills
- Must hold at least a high school diploma.
- Experience in youth animation or supporting teenagers is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Circular 2003-092 of 11/06/2003 relating to AED status.
- Understanding of the school's internal regulations.
- Preferred proficiency in French language.
- General knowledge about adolescence and developmental needs, including maintaining appropriate educational relationships and authority.
- Ability to cultivate trust and attentive listening with students.
- Competence in managing discipline and behavioral issues appropriately.
- Proficient in applying the internal rules of the school.
- Adept at using professional digital tools.
- Organized and methodical work approach.
- Respectful of hierarchy and loyal to the institution, demonstrating an exemplary professional conduct.
- Exhibits a professional and educational demeanor.
- Team-oriented mindset, capable of collaborating constructively with teachers and other personnel.
