Job description
Overview
The Department of Education in Western Australia is looking to create a pool of Design and Technology Assistants to fill both permanent and fixed-term roles, which may be full-time or part-time. These appointments could begin anytime during the 2026 academic year through to the end of Term 3, 2027.
This role is based at Cyril Jackson Senior Campus, a unique senior school offering flexible Year 11 and 12 education to students beyond the usual compulsory schooling age, including mature-age learners and those aiming for tertiary qualifications. The campus welcomes diverse students from across Western Australia, including migrants, refugees, and international fee-paying students enrolled in specialized English development courses.
Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support the classroom teacher by setting up classrooms and workshops for effective student instruction, preparing specialized equipment and materials, offering operational guidance on design and technology classes, and maintaining technical equipment through minor repairs and stock management.
Application Process
Applicants must submit a CV and a statement addressing the specified selection criteria, particularly evidence of skill in managing and operating technical/industrial equipment in a design and technology environment, communication abilities, and organizational and independent working skills. Further evaluation against additional selection criteria will occur during later recruitment stages.

Eligibility Requirements
