Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Senior QA Automation Engineer with 6 to 8 years' experience in software testing and test automation. The candidate will be proficient in Java, API testing, Selenium, and the Playwright automation framework. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and sustaining automation frameworks, working cross-functionally with development, product, and QA teams to deliver software of excellent quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and manage automated test scripts utilizing Java, Selenium, and Playwright.
- Construct and execute API test scenarios with tools like Rest Assured and Postman.
- Develop and refine automation frameworks to enhance test coverage and efficiency of execution.
- Carry out functional, regression, integration, and comprehensive end-to-end tests.
- Evaluate test outcomes to discover defects and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
- Implement automated tests within CI/CD pipelines for seamless integration.
- Review software requirements to estimate testing effort and formulate testing strategies.
- Engage actively in Agile and Scrum rituals to promote quality engineering best practices.
- Compile and present test execution documentation and deliver quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Guide junior QA engineers and foster an environment of knowledge sharing within the team.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in software testing and automated quality assurance.
- Proficient programming skills in Java.
- Practical knowledge of Selenium WebDriver automation.
- Experienced with the Playwright automation framework.
- Strong expertise in API testing using Rest Assured, Postman, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with TestNG or JUnit testing frameworks.
- Understanding and experience using build tools like Maven or Gradle.
- Working knowledge of Git and version control systems.
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
- Ability to perform database validations using SQL.
Preferred Skills
- Experience operating within Agile or Scrum development environments.
- Exposure to major cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC).
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Automation or software testing certifications are considered a beneficial addition.
