Job Overview and Duties

The Applications Engineer will support semiconductor-related operations regionally, engaging closely with customers to deliver superior application assistance. Responsibilities include developing process recipes for control systems, troubleshooting issues to resolution, conducting on-site product installations and support, and providing training to customers and colleagues. The role requires collaboration with headquarters to ensure alignment on tailored solutions and business objectives.

• Develop process recipes for the Dragonfly system.
• Provide on-site or remote customer support through phone or direct interaction.
• Collaborate across departments to deliver optimal application solutions.
• Establish expertise in Onto Innovation's products as a subject matter expert.
• Support customer application development by comprehending system setup, inspecting customer products, verifying result accuracy, and presenting findings.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and guarantee optimal system configuration and usage.
• Deliver training and support to customers and internal teams to enhance system utilization.
• Coordinate with technical support and headquarters engineering on procedural and equipment improvements.
• Potentially travel overseas to provide customer support; candidate based in Singapore.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in science, engineering, optics, physics, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 to 3 years of experience related to optics, mechanical, electrical systems, or semiconductor equipment preferred.
• Experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication and wafer inspection is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze data and generate clear reports and presentations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Effective time management capabilities with strong adherence to schedules and prioritization.
• Demonstrated ownership and minimal supervision required.
• Motivation for continuous skill advancement.
• Proven team player able to collaborate across departments and mentor team members on best practices and tool expertise.
• Familiarity with 2D pattern comparison and 3D measurement techniques, especially related to Dragonfly and ADC deep learning applications, preferred.
