About the Internship
This internship involves managing procurement and vendor relationships to support a sustainable farming startup dedicated to transforming urban food systems. The intern will contribute to maintaining and optimizing inventory, sourcing materials, and onboarding vendors at Cosy Farms, a company focusing on providing fresh, eco-friendly produce.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously update and monitor live inventory records to track existing stock, identify shortages, and log outstanding orders.
- Assess current inventory levels against planned requirements and initiate purchase orders only when there is a deficit.
- Obtain and evaluate competitive quotes from various suppliers for the components and materials required by the design team.
- Conduct field visits across Mumbai’s material markets to source parts, engage with suppliers, and collect samples.
- Research and source rare or difficult-to-find parts by identifying manufacturers or stockists and facilitating procurement.
- Recruit new vendors and ensure the vendor database is regularly updated with contact details, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Oversee order processing from placement to delivery, promptly identifying and communicating any delays that could impact production schedules.
- Prepare and share weekly reports detailing stock status, pending orders, and newly engaged vendors.
Candidate Eligibility and Additional Requirements
- Applicants must be available for a full-time, in-office internship based in Mumbai with the ability to travel to various material markets around the city.
- The internship duration is three months, with start dates between August 12, 2026, and September 16, 2026.
- Candidates from Engineering, Commerce, or Supply Chain backgrounds are preferred.
- Proficiency in maintaining records and trackers using MS Excel or Google Sheets is essential.
Compensation and Benefits
- This is a paid internship offering a monthly stipend ranging from INR 10,000 to INR 15,000.
