About the internship
About the Fellowship
This internship is a selective leadership program designed for pre-final and final-year university students eager to lead the intellectual property (IP) innovation initiatives on their campuses. Selected fellows coordinate a duo of Junior Campus Ambassadors, communicate with Deans of Research, Innovation Cell/IIC coordinators, and IQAC Directors, and actively promote Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)-level collaborations between their institution and Lexgin. Each cycle admits only 30 fellows nationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Lexgin representative and contact point at your institution.
- Recruit, onboard, and supervise two Junior Campus Ambassadors by setting targets, reviewing progress, and resolving obstacles.
- Arrange and conduct at least one weekly meeting with senior academic leaders such as Deans, Innovation Cell/IIC coordinators, or IQAC representatives, coordinating with the Regional Manager for closure.
- Conduct personally one IP awareness session or workshop on campus every month.
- Advance at least one MoU negotiation each month towards finalization.
- Regularly update online campus trackers every week covering leads, meetings, disclosure statements, pipelines, and potential challenges.
- Prepare and submit monthly campus reports and participate in weekly 45-minute regional conference calls.
- Organize at least one Faculty Development Programme (FDP) interaction per semester.
- Represent Lexgin at on-campus events, innovation expos, Technology Business Incubator (TBI), and research cell activities.
Internship Duration & Time Commitment
The internship spans six months, with potential for renewal up to twelve months, demanding approximately 6-8 hours weekly, designed to accommodate students' schedules.
Candidate Profile & Eligibility
- Applicants should be currently enrolled pre-final or final-year undergraduate or postgraduate students from disciplines including Engineering, Pharmacy, Sciences, Law, Management, or Design.
- Prior participation in Innovation Cells (IIC), Technology Business Incubators (TBI), research groups, entrepreneurship cells, or other student leadership roles is desirable; previous experience with patent applications or related projects is an advantage.
- Must be confident in professional interactions with senior faculty such as Deans, Heads of Departments (HoDs), and Directors.
- Demonstrable team management skills to guide and hold junior ambassadors accountable.
- Proficient in spoken and written English and a relevant regional language.
- Possess a strong sense of ownership, treating campus outcomes as personal responsibilities.
- Comfortable utilizing structured reporting, data dashboards, and CRM software (training is provided).
- Interest in intellectual property rights, innovation policies, and the research ecosystem in India is essential.
- Exhibit reliable calendar management and punctuality for meetings and reporting.
