Trade Assistant

About the Role

dormakaba, a global leader specializing in smart access solutions such as automatic doors, digital locks, and advanced access control technologies, is looking for a hands-on and motivated Trade Assistant. This position supports Service Technicians by assisting with maintenance, repair, and servicing of customer equipment, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and with high quality at various customer locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to Service Technicians during preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, and servicing routines.
• Help ensure delivery of high-standard service across multiple customer sites.
• Relay customer feedback, technical challenges, and potential business prospects to both Service and Sales teams.
• Adhere to safe work practices and comply with the company's health and safety policies.
• Foster a positive, cooperative team environment through professional interactions with colleagues and clients.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• High attention to detail with capability to follow instructions precisely.
• Mechanical aptitude; prior experience or knowledge in mechanical systems and/or basic electronics is highly valued.
• Committed to workplace health, safety, and quality standards.
• Ability to perform effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and forklift license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of a Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
• Possession of a current Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
• Comfortable working at heights with the relevant height safety certification or willingness to acquire it.
• Flexibility to work overtime and afternoon shifts as required.
