Join HubSpot's Operations team as a Staff Analytics Engineer where you'll play a crucial role in supporting the company's mission to help millions of organizations grow better. As a member of the Data & AI Foundations group, you will architect and implement a cutting-edge data infrastructure enabling scalable analytic and machine learning products, directly impacting decision-making across HubSpot.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and enhance high-performance data pipelines and sophisticated analytical tools optimized for scalability.
• Manage and improve foundational platform components, developer tools, reusable code patterns, and automation that improve efficiency team-wide.
• Contribute to the creation of an AI-powered, modular analytics engineering delivery pipeline automating stages from context gathering to code integration.
• Develop and sustain semantic data models that act as authoritative, reusable sources for analytics and AI usage throughout the company.
• Create internal AI agents and data-driven tools integrating remote procedure call capabilities via MCP servers.
• Plan and implement cost management strategies for shared data assets, pipelines, and compute resources.
• Establish and scale patterns for data ingestion, replication, and system data transfers.
• Encourage technical innovation by remaining current with emerging technologies and industry advancements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to foster team members' professional growth.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to design technical solutions addressing business challenges.
• Construct scalable data models to analyze vital segments of HubSpot's business.
• Expand the existing dbt macro and pattern library to allow flexible, extensible data structures.
• Implement data observability and ensure pipeline reliability using tools like Monte Carlo.
• Set scalable standards and best practices for developing analytical applications, particularly in Hex.
• Lead cross-functional working groups, define project requirements, and oversee project lifecycles to successful completion.
• Maintain detailed, clear documentation covering data workflows, pipelines, and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated expertise with modern data technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, and Looker.
• Strong command of SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data transformations.
• Advanced skill set in dbt, including complex modeling, creating macros, and packaging development.
• Experience designing and managing slowly changing dimension tables aggregating data from diverse sources.
• Proven track record of leading intricate, cross-team data projects from vague concepts through production rollout.
• Hands-on experience building shared data platform components, developer tooling, or internal frameworks.
• Ability to design semantic data models or metric layers optimized for analytics consumption and AI integration.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code, and expertise in designing agentic, composable skill-based workflows.
• Experience constructing AI agents and integrating third-party tools via MCP server infrastructure.
• Proficiency in version control systems, especially GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
• A DevOps-oriented approach emphasizing automation, teamwork, continuous improvement, user-centric design, and iterative development.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical ideas into clear business language.
• Python experience is beneficial but not a strict requirement.
