About the Role

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) at Google merges software and systems engineering to create and maintain large-scale, distributed, and resilient systems. The SRE team ensures that Google's internal and external services meet required reliability and uptime standards, alongside constant improvements. This role offers the chance to manage challenges unique to Google's scale, leveraging skills in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis, and large-scale system architecture.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead an engineering team responsible for site reliability projects, directly accountable for service uptime.
- Ensure comprehensive availability and performance of critical services, developing automation to eliminate recurring issues and automate routine responses.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to build team credibility and excellence.
- Oversee and enhance on-call operations across multiple continents, promoting healthy practices and swift incident responses.
- Design, develop, and deploy software improvements to optimize service scalability, latency, efficiency, and reliability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Minimum of 8 years in software development involving one or more programming languages.
- At least 3 years managing teams or personnel.
- Minimum 3 years in project leadership roles.
- Experience of 3 years or more in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed computing systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is a plus.
