Role Overview
We are looking for a meticulous Senior Payroll Analyst to join our expanding Finance department in Singapore. This role involves managing comprehensive payroll processing for multiple Asia-Pacific countries ensuring accuracy, adherence to local regulations, and timely payroll delivery. The position reports directly to the Head of International Accounting and indirectly to the Head of Global Payroll.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for APAC entities including India, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, and expanding regions.
- Assist in extending payroll services to additional countries such as New Zealand.
- Support month-end payroll accounting activities and queries within the Corporate Accounting team.
- Ensure all payroll activities adhere to local tax laws and employment regulations across jurisdictions.
- Oversee collaboration and maintain strong relationships with third-party payroll vendors.
- Handle employee inquiries related to international payroll matters promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with the equity team to administer stock option processes.
- Resolve tax notices issued by respective authorities internationally.
- Work closely with People, Tax, Global Mobility, Finance, and other departments to address payroll inconsistencies and to improve related processes.
- Prepare detailed payroll reports and analytics for management review.
- Contribute to payroll system integrations and automation projects.
- Execute payroll processing utilizing Workday and the PwC Global Payroll Platform.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related area.
- Over 10 years’ experience in payroll operations, including a minimum of 5 years managing international payroll.
- Demonstrable expertise in handling various compensation types such as regular, off-cycle, severance, taxable benefits, and equity.
- Comprehensive understanding of international payroll compliance and regulatory frameworks.
- Experienced in payroll journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
- Proficiency with Workday HRIS and global payroll systems, preferably PwC’s platform.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to effectively multitask and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Strong analytical capabilities combined with problem-solving skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting rapid expansion into new international markets.
- Familiarity with European employment laws and tax regulations.
- Background in payroll system implementation projects.
- Knowledge of major HRIS platforms.
Additional Information
Applicants should have at minimum a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and practical experience relevant to payroll operations. This role is onsite in Singapore but follows a hybrid policy requiring staff to be onsite at least 25% of the time.
