Role Overview
The Security Supervisor role is a full-time, on-location position based in Harare, tasked with managing daily security functions at assigned sites. Responsibilities include overseeing security personnel, scheduling duty shifts, performing site inspections, and ensuring compliance with security guidelines and company policies. The supervisor will oversee access control, respond promptly to incidents, liaise with clients and internal stakeholders, and produce accurate, timely incident and shift reporting. Coaching and guiding the security team, supporting performance evaluation, and fostering professional customer service and safety standards are critical aspects of the position.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong leadership abilities encompassing team supervision, performance assessment, and shift management.
- Proficiency in physical security practices, including access control, patrolling procedures, incident handling, and maintaining site safety.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for client, colleague interaction, and report generation.
- Customer service aptitude to manage client expectations, professionally address issues, and sustain positive relationships.
- Operations management capabilities for resource organization, documentation upkeep, and adherence to security protocols.
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field, ideally in a supervisory position.
- Capacity to stay composed under pressure, exercise prudent decision-making, and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Possession of relevant security certifications or training and knowledge of local laws and safety standards is beneficial.
