Job Description

Diversified Maintenance is looking for a Janitor responsible for general cleaning and upkeep of assigned areas within a building or multiple client sites. Tasks vary based on client needs, so flexibility with assigned duties is essential.

Work Schedule and Compensation

The position offers a $12 per hour wage. Working hours are from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday through Sunday, totaling 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain floor surfaces using methods including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Use chemical cleaners and power equipment safely to avoid damage to floors and other items.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, meeting rooms, hallways, and entrance areas.
• Empty trash bins properly and operate compactors for certain waste materials.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using suitable cleaning agents and tools.
• Perform spot cleaning on carpets and assist with thorough carpet shampooing and extraction.
• Restock paper products and sanitary supplies as needed.
• Adhere to the housekeeping schedule meticulously.
• Occasionally operate heavy cleaning machinery, including floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers.
• Execute other assigned tasks as required by the job scope or customer requests.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; alternatively, at least six months of janitorial-related experience.
• Willingness to undertake on-the-job training.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous janitorial or cleaning experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with custodial best practices and commercial cleaning standards.
• Knowledge of floor care, including buffing and waxing techniques.
• Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities upkeep preferred.
