Inventory Cycle Counter

About the Role

Core-Mark International is seeking an Inventory Cycle Counter to meticulously count physical inventory and enhance inventory process efficiencies in their Milton, Ontario warehouse. This crucial position supports the accuracy of inventory records by verifying stock levels such as materials, equipment, merchandise, and supplies, and ensuring warehouse practices maintain high-quality assurance standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate counts of items in stock including materials, equipment, merchandise, and supplies to create comprehensive inventory records.
• Cross-check physical inventories against office records and calculate discrepancies to ensure correctness.
• Verify clerical calculations with physical stock counts and investigate any inconsistencies.
• Monitor how inventory rotates and suggest improvements as necessary.
• Generate various reports including inventory balances, weekly cycle counts, and production breakdowns.
• List depleted inventory items and recommend surveys for defective or unusable stock.
• Review and analyze daily reports as directed by the Auditor.
• Maintain inventory shrinkage within company standards.
• Gain an understanding of overall business operations and their effect on inventory integrity.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• 1 to 3 years' experience managing inventory in a warehouse environment.
• Strong commitment to quality customer service demonstrated through effective communication skills.
• Ability to convey information with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general intermediate computer skills.
• Capable of performing inventory counts using mathematical skills and adding machines.
• Certified or able to pass forklift certification and operate assigned warehouse equipment.
• Ability to operate scissor lifts while wearing harnesses and appropriate PPE.
• Familiarity with AS400 or SAP inventory systems or the ability to learn them.
• Willingness to work in various warehouse temperature conditions including freezer and cooler areas.
• Availability to work extended hours if necessary.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Capable of lifting and carrying totes and bundles up to 30 lbs repetitively and up to 60 lbs occasionally; able to push loads up to 50 lbs and transport dollies weighing up to 250 lbs.
• Able to maneuver loaded hand carts on diverse surfaces and inclines.
• Must be able to stand, walk frequently, and drive for extended periods.
• Capable of occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Exposure to a variety of environmental conditions such as changing weather, temperatures, lighting, and noise depending on the site.
• Work at heights within the warehouse while using motorized equipment and PPE.

Working Hours

Work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM and Friday from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
