About the Role
A well-established construction company is actively looking for a proficient Construction Estimator to become part of their expanding team. This full-time, permanent role focuses on a broad array of construction projects including hospitals, educational institutions, commercial properties, and government facilities. The estimator will oversee all phases of cost estimation, ensuring accurate financial planning and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for a range of construction projects spanning healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, hospitality, and government sectors.
- Assess blueprints, specifications, and proposals thoroughly to establish precise estimations of time, cost, and labor requirements.
- Engage with clients, vendors, and internal teams including foremen, to coordinate on estimates and resolve any estimation-related issues.
- Conduct on-site evaluations to obtain necessary data for precise cost forecasting.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, innovative technologies, and advanced methodologies applicable to construction estimation.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects during project planning stages.
- Prepare and deliver detailed cost reports and analyses to both management and clients.
- Review completed projects to compare estimates against actual costs, identifying causes of any discrepancies.
- Recommend improvements to estimation procedures to minimize future variances between projected and actual costs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least five years of experience as a Construction Estimator, specifically with projects involving hospitals, educational institutions, commercial, government, industrial, and hospitality sectors.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and specialized cost estimation applications.
- Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude combined with meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for presenting complex cost data clearly.
- Ability to efficiently organize and manage multiple projects within strict timelines.
- Thorough knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
- Professional certification from the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) or similar is preferred.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to make informed decisions in high-pressure scenarios.
Compensation and Benefits
This role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $130,000, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
