Backend Java Developer

Role Overview

The position entails advanced hands-on development using Java as a backend developer within a full stack scope. The role includes designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting software, and enhancing existing features to meet business requirements. Deployment and ongoing maintenance of applications and systems are also key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and document software solutions adhering to business needs.
• Maintain and deploy applications and system components efficiently.
• Collaborate with software engineers across Agile scrum teams focusing on project delivery.
• Participate in design and architecture decisions emphasizing security, scalability, and maintainability, effectively communicating technical implications to leadership.
• Create reusable development patterns and promote innovations to improve team productivity.
• Engage with product owners and teammates in the design process, fostering collaboration within and outside the scrum team.
• Estimate work efforts for engineering tasks within Agile frameworks, prioritizing impactful activities.
• Perform design and code reviews ensuring adherence to best practices, unit testing standards, security measures, and scalability considerations.
• Instill a quality-first mindset among team members.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of four years experience encompassing the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• At least four years of dedicated experience as a Backend Java Developer.
• Proficient in scripting with Python and Bash for automation and development tasks.
• Familiarity with web service technologies including WSDL, REST, SOAP, XML, as well as frameworks like Hibernate and Spring.
• Database expertise using PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL query languages.
• Strong knowledge of deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters and Docker containers is highly advantageous.
• Experience using AWS services such as Lambda, Kinesis, API Gateway, and IoT services.
• Previous involvement in IoT projects will be viewed favorably.
