Job description
Role Overview
T&G is undertaking a technology transformation to unite data from orchards, packhouses, logistics, sales, and international markets to create a unified, trusted enterprise data view. The focus is on modernising data platforms as part of SAP S/4HANA implementation and cloud upgrades, including expansion of the Snowflake platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data models in Snowflake to support enterprise needs.
- Create and maintain dbt projects encompassing model development, testing, documentation, and CI/CD pipeline management.
- Develop performant SQL queries and optimise platform efficiency.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical data solutions.
- Support ongoing enhancements of the enterprise data platform.
- Help guide analytics capabilities and explore AI-enabled data engineering methods to improve quality and accelerate delivery.
Desired Experience and Skills
- More than five years of experience in data engineering, focusing on enterprise data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
- Advanced proficiency with Snowflake features such as SQL, performance tuning, RBAC, tasks, streams, and Delta Sharing.
- Strong practical experience with dbt, including building models, implementing tests, creating documentation, and managing CI/CD processes.
- Proven ability to gather and analyze business requirements to deliver scalable technical solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to identifying root causes.
- Familiarity with managing technology and information security risks in enterprise environments.
- Adoption of a modern engineering mindset incorporating AI-based tools for enhanced development, testing, and documentation while ensuring governance and security.
Experience with SAP, AWS, Power BI, or large-scale enterprise transformation initiatives is advantageous but not mandatory.
