Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking two permanent Security Intelligence Officers to join the Department of Justice, stationed at Melaleuca Women's Prison and Banksia Hill Detention Centre. This recruitment may also be used to fill permanent and fixed-term roles at the Perth CBD head office and various metropolitan and regional prison facilities.

About Intelligence Services

The Intelligence Services unit within the Corrective Services Division supports the Department's mission by providing:

  • Collection and evaluation of unique, relevant intelligence
  • Expert intelligence analysis and recommendations
  • Prompt dissemination of information to relevant stakeholders

Primary Responsibilities

The Security Intelligence Officer delivers tactical intelligence assistance to security teams, aiding in identifying risks to the safety of offenders, staff, and facilities across various prison locations. Additionally, there is an Intelligence Support Officer role providing administrative and intelligence assistance, based in Perth CBD.

Mandatory Eligibility

Applicants must be Australian citizens able to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance as a condition of employment.
