Role Overview
The Risk Manager will drive the adoption of integrated risk management across substantial capital projects or programs, tailoring processes to meet client requirements while adhering to industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement bespoke risk management frameworks aligned with client needs and best industry practices.
- Communicate clearly the advantages and value of robust risk management approaches.
- Lead activities surrounding risk identification, assessment of threats and opportunities to optimize efficiencies within client projects and programs.
- Facilitate risk workshops engaging clients and project teams.
- Support the creation and refinement of risk management methodologies and applications to benefit clients and their organizations.
- Produce comprehensive risk reporting to effectively convey status of threats and opportunities.
- Oversee the execution of risk mitigation strategies across projects and programs.
- Help identify measurable and precise management responses and evaluate their effectiveness after mitigation.
- Establish and manage effective risk contingency procedures consistent with client expectations.
- Monitor risk trigger points to enable accurate risk cost profiling, appropriate use of risk budgets, and risk retirement when applicable.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to risk specialists and other stakeholders to influence a broad organization spectrum.
- Conduct quantitative risk analyses focused on cost and scheduling to guide project contingency planning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in a relevant field with 8 to 15 years of substantive risk management experience or equivalent proven expertise.
- Familiarity with integrated risk management processes encompassing risk, cost, and schedule aspects on sizeable projects or programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication proficiency with a sincere commitment to innovation in work practices.
- Professional certifications in risk management such as APM or IRM are preferred.
