Job description
About the Role
Guardsquare seeks a skilled C++/LLVM Compiler Engineer to join our expanding Singapore-based research and development team. This role involves developing software designed to make reverse engineering more difficult for malicious actors by protecting mobile applications against tampering. You will contribute to iXGuard and other products built on C++ and the LLVM compiler infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and develop products based on C++ and LLVM technology.
- Research, experiment with, and implement innovative code-hardening methods.
- Engage deeply with compiler internals, LLVM tools, and complex data pipelines.
- Maintain and improve an extensive, mature codebase.
- Identify, reproduce, and resolve complex technical issues in collaboration with customers and internal teams.
- Support customers to integrate and utilize the software effectively.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to overcome engineering challenges.
- Enhance software quality through rigorous testing practices.
- Keep current with the latest trends in compiler technology, mobile security, and reverse engineering.
Candidate Profile
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years of applicable experience in software engineering.
- Proficient in C++ programming with experience handling large or complex codebases.
- Understanding of compiler internals and familiarity with LLVM tooling.
- Experience in low-level programming and debugging techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear and effective communication skills, capable of collaborating directly with clients.
- Interest in software security and reverse engineering domains.
Additional Information
The position is office-based in Singapore and demands up to 50% of your effort on R&D customer support involving deep technical investigations rather than traditional helpdesk requests. You will be reporting administratively to the Managing Director locally and functionally to the R&D Team Lead for technical oversight and growth.
We are looking for candidates who are legally authorized to work in Singapore at the time of application; unfortunately, no visa sponsorship is available for this role.
Why Join Guardsquare?
- Engage in challenging engineering work at the edge of compiler engineering and mobile security.
- Work on real LLVM-based challenges and develop advanced mobile application protection technologies.
- Be part of building a new R&D office in Singapore from its foundation.
- Collaborate in an international setting emphasizing ownership, teamwork, and continual learning.
- Contribute ideas that directly influence product innovations.
- Products you help develop impact high-stakes sectors like finance, social media, and payment industries globally.
