Role Overview

We seek a Commissioning Agent based in Ireland or the Netherlands to perform commissioning of critical mission center equipment such as power generation and distribution systems, UPS, static transfer switches, PDUs, BAS/BMS, and HVAC units. The role demands strong technical knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems or comparable industry experience, combined with excellent client service aptitude. Familiarity with industrial generators, UPS, HVAC, and power conditioning devices is advantageous.

Technical proficiency with test tools like AC/DC amp probes, digital voltmeters, phase rotation meters, battery conductance and load testers, and micro-ohm meters is required. The position mandates approximately 75% travel, both domestically and internationally, and involves remote work complemented by occasional visits to client sites for meetings, training, and events.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct design reviews of systems to ensure specifications and compliance.
• Create, oversee, and document startup and commissioning policies and protocols.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control checks on equipment installations.
• Monitor construction progress and formulate functional test plans.
• Carry out tests on diverse electrical and mechanical systems, verifying compliance with standards.
• Assist in training operations and maintenance teams for client plants.
• Serve as a liaison between vendors and subcontractors to troubleshoot and conduct testing as necessary.
• Analyze collected data and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Manage small to medium projects ensuring technical quality, budgeting, and scheduling requirements are met.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in electrical power distribution, mechanical systems, or both, supported by an AA degree, military training, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong diagnostic capabilities for resolving construction and operational challenges.
• Highly organized with excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel software.
• Ability to operate effectively under stressful conditions while managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills with the capability to collaborate and lead teams.
• Solid understanding of building codes and construction industry standards.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid passport.
• Demonstrated comprehensive expertise in commissioning engineering roles.
• At least 5 years of commissioning field experience including handling performance contracting.
• Proficiency with BCA, PECI, and/or ASHRAE commissioning procedures.
• Preferred experience in hospitals, biotech, data centers, and energy analysis.
• Willingness and capability to undertake travel up to 75% of the time.
• Availability of personal transport for client meetings and job visits, with expense reimbursement.
