Role Overview

We are transforming the online advertising ecosystem for advertisers, publishers, and networks. We seek talented Systems and Network Engineers to join our expanding Porto-based team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and supporting the server and network infrastructure that powers our ad-serving platform. Collaboration with application developers is essential to ensure optimal server performance and availability across various exciting projects.

Location

This position is fully remote within Ireland, though working from the Dublin office is optional.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, support, and maintain both server hardware and software infrastructure.
• Manage database systems including MariaDB and ClickHouse, alongside web servers such as Nginx.
• Monitor server and network resource consumption.
• Optimize resource utilization to maximize cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
• Plan and execute future infrastructure deployments.
• Provide on-call availability for critical infrastructure support on a 24/7 basis when required.
• Drive improvements in team processes while aligning with industry best practices.
• Engage in knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.

Candidate Profile

• Broad experience with Linux operating systems, especially RedHat distributions, and strong appreciation for open-source software.
• Advanced proficiency with web server technologies and PHP.
• Hands-on experience administering MariaDB databases.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet.
• Experience with caching technologies including Redis, Memcached, and CouchBase.
• Understanding of Agile frameworks like SCRUM and associated tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Academic qualifications: BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical fields, or equivalent practical experience.

Additional Advantages

• Skill in scripting languages including Bash, Python, Ruby, and Perl.
• Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub.
• Networking expertise involving DNS setup, VRRP, and remote server provisioning methods like PXE and Kickstart.
• Familiarity with PHP, Python, and Go programming languages.
• Exposure to big data technologies such as Hadoop and Impala.
• Experience with ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), security practices like SELinux and IPTables, advanced networking concepts, and monitoring tools like Nagios.
