Store Driver

Job Overview

This role requires safely delivering automotive parts to professional customers, managing returns and cores, and promoting sales flyers regularly. The Store Driver also handles daily collections from credit accounts, builds strong customer relationships, and assists in enhancing sales through upselling and cross-selling techniques. Maintaining cleanliness and organized stock in the store is also part of the job.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, stage, and deliver parts securely to professional clients.
• Handle pick up of returns and core parts.
• Distribute sales flyers weekly or monthly and promote ongoing sales and loyalty programs.
• Collect payments from credit accounts daily.
• Develop and nurture relationships with MainStreet and National professional customers, providing useful insights back to the Customer Parts Professional (CPP).
• Support sales efforts by upselling and cross-selling to boost average transaction volume.
• Keep the store clean and tidy, including floors, restrooms, shelving, dusting, and parking areas.
• Stock the truck, replenish back stock, and perform cycle counts as required.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of inventory and new product arrivals to assist in sales activities.
• Engage walk-in customers effectively by understanding their needs and recommending the correct parts or services.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Reads and interprets safety rules, maintenance instructions, and parts documentation accurately.
• Competent in basic math calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across various units.
• Flexible availability to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
• Confidence in interacting with customers and promoting products.
• Eager to learn about new products and sales methods.

Qualifications and Experience

• Automotive parts experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.

Physical Requirements

The position involves frequent walking or standing, talking, hearing, using hands to handle or feel objects, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must often lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Essential vision capabilities include close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Work is predominantly indoors but may occasionally involve exposure to weather conditions and contact with mechanical parts, dangerous chemicals, electrical hazards, explosives, and vibrations.
