Role Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer focusing on DevOps, you will facilitate smooth communication and collaboration between development and operations teams. Your responsibility will include enhancing automation, infrastructure, release pipelines, and processes to drive efficient product delivery. You will innovate with modern tools and technologies, applying a data-driven approach while fostering engineering standards and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Ripple’s service platforms spanning multiple regions and cloud providers.
• Create and manage automation, monitoring, and instrumentation tools aimed at minimizing operational hurdles and boosting engineering productivity.
• Lead initiatives to discover and implement next-generation infrastructure and deployment solutions in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Automate platform and application lifecycle processes to achieve desired states with minimal manual intervention.
• Work closely with product engineering teams to ensure code readiness for production environments.
• Promote the adoption of DevOps-first methodologies across the organisation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Over six years of practical experience in DevOps or similar roles.
• Proficient in at least one of these programming languages: Python, Go, or Java.
• Experienced in managing complex, multi-region service platforms.
• Strong command of Kubernetes and extensive experience with cloud infrastructure management, particularly AWS.
• Hands-on experience with container runtimes and schedulers such as Docker, Rkt, or OCI, operating on Kubernetes, Rancher, or Mesos.
• Expertise in building deployment pipelines leveraging standard CI/CD tools.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies, including Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Awareness of security best practices and experience implementing security standards.
• Background working with Agile software development for distributed services focusing on robust builds, scalability, and security.
• Positive attitude with a strong interest in sharing knowledge and collaborating.
