Senior C++ Embedded Systems Developer

Role Overview

As a Senior C++ Embedded Systems Developer, you will be responsible for creating advanced C++ applications that power our cutting-edge satellite terminal technology. Your duties will encompass designing, implementing, testing, and deploying software solutions from initial requirements through to commercial launch. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and agile participation is essential to successfully deliver integrated features and validate new product models.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft and maintain C++ software controlling next-gen satellite terminals.
• Translate requirements into production-ready code through design, development, and thorough testing.
• Provide accurate time and effort estimations for feature implementations.
• Engage actively in design and peer code reviews to uplift product quality.
• Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to manage dependencies and feature integration.
• Perform integration and validation for new product designs within the development pipeline.
• Contribute as a proactive member of an Agile scrum development team.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of seven years' overall experience in C++ development, including at least two years in embedded software environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of hardware design principles and architecture.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming with C and C++ in Linux or POSIX operating systems.
• Experience with software configuration management systems, defect tracking, and familiarity with code review processes.
• Strong documentation capabilities and technical writing skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related technical discipline.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Knowledge of satellite communication protocols, specifically DVB-S2 and TDMA.
• Understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, and IPv6.
• Experience with X.509 certificate handling and cryptographic key management.
• Competence in shell scripting and languages such as Perl, Lua, or Python.
• Familiarity with development tools like Docker, Conan, cmake, and modern C++ standards (C++11).
• Exposure to collaboration and CI/CD tools such as Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Git, SharePoint, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
• Practical knowledge with GCC, command line utilities (grep, awk, sed), bash scripting, GDB debugger, and systemd.
