Position Overview
The Lead Engineer responsible for Instrumentation Design will be based at the corporate office in Vadodara, Gujarat. Candidates should hold a B.E or B.Tech degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering and have over 8 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare engineering deliverables including Instrument Index, I/O schedules, Junction Box schedules, cable schedules, instrument datasheets, material requisitions, instrument hookup drawings, location plans, cable tray and control room layouts, functional loop schematic diagrams, and loop diagrams.
- Review and clarify vendor offers and Technical Bid Analysis reports.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary engineering interfaces with Process, Piping, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical teams.
- Lead instrumentation engineering and procurement tasks such as defining design basis, creating instrument indexes and I/O lists, developing instrument datasheets, specifying control system architecture, preparing hookup and loop diagrams, cable tray layouts, cable and junction box schedules, location plans, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), tenders, RFQs, technical evaluations, Technical Bid Analysis (TBA), and Vendor Data Review (VDR).
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 8 years of engineering design experience within Oil & Gas, Hydrocarbons, or Chemical industries; experience with pre-commissioning and commissioning is advantageous.
- Thorough understanding of industry codes and standards, hazardous area classification, as well as instrument selection and sizing criteria.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, instrument sizing tools, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
