Electrical Engineer

Overview

The Electrical Testing & Commissioning Engineer is tasked with the responsibility of verifying, testing, and commissioning electrical equipment across substations, power and industrial plants, and commercial projects nationwide. This role includes fault diagnostics, report preparation, team coordination, and strict adherence to safety and industry regulations.

Key Duties

• Execute pre-commissioning and commissioning processes on electrical apparatus.
• Test electrical units such as power transformers, CTs, PTs/CVTs, circuit breakers, isolators, high and low tension switchgear panels, protection relays, busbars, cables, batteries, and charging systems.
• Conduct various tests including insulation resistance, contact and winding resistance, turns ratio, primary and secondary injection, timing, and functional verification.
• Validate control wiring setups and interlock logics.
• Interpret electrical drawings including single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring layouts.
• Perform relay testing and verify protection schemes.
• Ensure compliance with IS, IEC, IEEE standards and project-specific guidelines.
• Compile test and commissioning reports including punch lists.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and equipment manufacturers for smooth project execution.
• Identify and resolve faults with corrective measures.
• Adhere to electrical safety protocols and permit-to-work systems at all times.
• Support on-time project delivery through effective teamwork and site cooperation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering; alternatively, ITI Electrician with relevant experience considered.
• Proficiency with electrical testing tools and substation equipment.
• Experience with HT and LT switchgear testing, transformer and protection relay evaluation, cable testing, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Able to read and understand electrical diagrams and drawings.
• Comfortable using MS Office applications for documentation and reporting.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary aligned with company policy and experience, ranging between 25,000 and 75,000 INR monthly.
