Job description
Overview
The Dispenser plays a vital role within our pharmacy team, supporting pharmacists and healthcare staff to deliver safe and efficient pharmacy services. Based in-store in the UK, you will engage with patients, carefully dispense prescriptions, and provide informed advice to promote health and wellness.
Key Duties
- Accurately dispense prescriptions while ensuring the safe supply of medicines including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and handling collections.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to manage and deliver pharmacy services effectively.
- Offer patient care and medicine-related guidance, passing queries to the pharmacist when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safe and legal dispensing practices.
- Stay informed about new technologies and operational processes that enhance store functions.
- Assist patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines to promote adherence and minimize waste.
Continuous Development
You will be encouraged to engage with evolving in-store technologies that improve dispensing and patient safety. Ongoing training and career growth opportunities include pathways to become a Pharmacy Technician or join store leadership.
Requirements
- Completion of Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 or equivalent, or progression through the first year of an MPharm degree.
- Valid UK right to work status; note that sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visas is not available for this position.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a community pharmacy environment is advantageous.
