About the Role
Join our pharmacy team at Boots UK in Inverness as a Dispenser, a vital supporter to pharmacists and healthcare staff, helping to deliver safe and efficient pharmacy and health services within a store environment. In this role, you will engage with patients by understanding their health needs, greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, and ensuring medicines are safely sold. Your healthcare knowledge will assist patients in making informed wellbeing decisions, making a daily impact on their lives.
Key Duties
- Dispense prescriptions accurately, including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and collection processes while ensuring safety.
- Collaborate with pharmacy professionals to manage and deliver services effectively.
- Offer advice on medicines and escalate queries to pharmacists appropriately.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safe and legal dispensing standards.
- Stay updated with new innovations and operational procedures within the store.
- Assist patients in managing prescriptions, promoting adherence, and minimizing waste.
You will also engage with evolving in-store technologies to modernize dispensing activities, enhancing patient safety and freeing more time for patient interaction. Ongoing training and career development opportunities, such as progressing to Pharmacy Technician roles or store leadership, are provided.
Candidate Requirements
- Completion of Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 or equivalent, or current progress with at least first year of an MPharm degree.
- Valid UK right to work; this position does not support Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
- Community pharmacy experience is desirable but not mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage starts at £13.92, rising to £16.64 in selected London areas.

Additional Information
This position is based in-store in the UK; remote applications or those without UK work authorization are not eligible.
