About the Role

Join WSP in Saudi Arabia as an Associate Director leading the structural engineering discipline across large-scale and intricate building projects. This position offers the chance to engage with high-profile developments and collaborate with top experts, driving excellence in technical delivery and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the structural engineering function for multiple large and complex building assignments.
  • Provide strategic leadership ensuring superior design quality, safety standards, and timely project completion.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to clients, developing strong partnerships and delivering trusted technical counsel.
  • Manage and expand key client accounts by identifying and nurturing long-term business opportunities.
  • Contribute to business development through client networking, market assessment, and preparing persuasive proposals and bids.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape growth strategies within the Buildings sector.
  • Supervise resource allocation, budgeting, commercial metrics, and scheduling to maximize project profitability.
  • Champion innovation in structural design, utilize digital engineering techniques, and promote sustainable solutions.
  • Mentor senior engineers and project leads, fostering a technically proficient and cooperative culture.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, industry conferences, and relevant forums.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations, quality assurance, and all governance requirements related to risk and contracts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Professional accreditation such as Chartered Engineer or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Over 20 years of experience in structural engineering, especially leading major building projects.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-value, complex developments within consulting environments.
  • Experience directing multidisciplinary teams and managing extensive project portfolios.
  • Advanced expertise in reinforced concrete, steel structures, and structural analysis methods.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design codes and standards applicable in UAE, KSA, and internationally.
  • Demonstrated success in maintaining client relationships and acquiring new business.
  • Proficiency in leading bids, proposals, and framework agreements.
  • Strong commercial insight with capacity to optimize project profit and business outcomes.
