Job Overview

Advance Auto Parts is seeking a dedicated Store Driver based in Athens, GA to deliver automotive parts safely and efficiently to professional customers while maintaining excellent customer relationships and supporting store operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver parts safely to professional customers, ensuring proper staging and accurate delivery.
• Retrieve customer returns and core parts promptly.
• Distribute sales flyers on a weekly or monthly schedule, actively promoting current sales deals and loyalty programs.
• Collect payments daily from credit accounts.
• Develop and sustain strong connections with MainStreet and National Pro customers, providing valuable insights to the customer product professionals (CPP).
• Support upselling and cross-selling initiatives to enhance average transaction values.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the store, including floors, restrooms, product facing, dusting, and parking areas.
• Assist with inventory tasks such as truck stocking, back stock management, and cycle counts.
• Stay informed about product inventory and newly arrived items to aid in customer assistance.
• Engage walk-in customers to identify their needs and recommend suitable parts and services.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support store operations.

Essential Skills

• Effective English communication skills, both spoken and written; Spanish language skills are an added advantage.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety protocols, maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedural manuals.
• Basic mathematical proficiency including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends as required.
• Confidence in customer engagement and product promotion.
• Willingness to learn about new products and sales strategies.

Preferred Experience and Education

• Past experience in automotive parts is preferable but not mandatory.
• High school diploma or equivalent educational credential.

Licenses and Physical Requirements

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record is mandatory.
• The role requires frequent walking or standing and the physical ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance.
• Other physical activities include talking, hearing, hand manipulation, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Visual skills needed comprise close and distance vision, color recognition, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Work is primarily indoors, with periodic exposure to outdoor weather conditions and mechanical equipment. The role may involve exposure to potentially hazardous elements such as chemicals, electrical risks, and noise levels generally moderate.
