Job Overview
This role involves designing, developing, and testing scalable, high-performance applications to serve millions of Walmart International customers, specifically in supply chain management and enhancing customer experience.
About the Team
The team partners with Walmart International operations spanning over 5,900 retail units across 55 banners in 26 countries including regions like Africa, Argentina, Canada, and India among others.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, architect, develop, test, and deploy advanced solutions at a large scale impacting global customers.
- Collaborate with Walmart engineering teams worldwide to utilize expertise and contribute to the wider tech community.
- Work closely with Product Management and Business teams to prioritize and deliver innovative features that keep the platform competitive.
- Research and select appropriate open-source technologies through proof of concepts or community engagement to implement product features.
- Contribute to developing features that facilitate customer analytics at Walmart’s scale.
- Deploy and oversee products on cloud infrastructure.
- Establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure data applications meet service-level agreements.
Candidate Profile
- 2.5 to 6 years of experience in developing web-based enterprise applications.
- Solid experience in front-end technologies such as React.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Comprehensive understanding of full stack development using Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, RESTful services, APIs, and related frameworks.
- A passion for crafting user-centric, intuitive web applications that resolve complex business issues.
- Strong technical expertise with hands-on involvement and the ability to mentor junior talent.
- Comfortable collaborating with globally distributed teams, possessing excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Previous experience in retail domain is highly advantageous.

Minimum Qualifications
- Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related fields plus at least 2 years of relevant software engineering experience in technology, retail, or data-driven environments.
- Option 2: Minimum of 4 years experience in software engineering or equivalent roles within technology, retail, or data-centric companies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as Security+, Network+, GISF, GSEC, CISSP, or CCSP.
- Advanced degree (Master’s) in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related areas.
