Overview
We are looking to hire a Lead Software Engineer specializing in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Platforms, Kubernetes, and GitOps methodologies. The successful candidate will craft, manage, and scale Kubernetes-based production platforms with a focus on enhancing reliability, automation, observability, and operational excellence for enterprise cloud-native applications.
This position involves close collaboration with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Security teams to develop robust cloud-native solutions based on Kubernetes and to advocate for modern DevOps approaches utilizing ArgoCD, GitOps, and container orchestration best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and optimize continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines alongside Kubernetes deployment strategies.
- Construct and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructures.
- Lead infrastructure automation, manage configuration, and enforce platform standardization.
- Boost developer efficiency by building platform engineering solutions and enabling self-service capabilities.
- Set and uphold reliability frameworks including SLAs and SLOs, steering incident management and driving initiatives for reliability improvements.
- Enhance performance, scalability, availability, and disaster recovery for systems.
- Deploy proactive monitoring, alerting, and observability systems.
- Implement GitOps approaches with ArgoCD for Kubernetes application deployments, automating deployments, environment setup, and configuration management.
- Ensure deployment processes are consistent, secure, and auditable across environments.
- Promote and institutionalize DevOps and GitOps standards across engineering teams.
- Design, deploy, and maintain production Kubernetes clusters on cloud platforms (EKS, AKS, GKE, or equivalents).
- Manage containerized application deployments using Docker and Kubernetes ecosystem tools such as Helm and Kustomize.
- Configure and troubleshoot Kubernetes networking, ingress controllers, storage, autoscaling, and resource allocation.
- Drive cluster health through upgrade planning, capacity assessments, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce Kubernetes security best practices like RBAC, network policies, and pod security standards.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership on DevOps and SRE practices.
- Work flexibly across global teams located in EMEA and US time zones.
Candidate Profile
- 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles.
- In-depth hands-on expertise in DevOps, SRE, CI/CD processes, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience applying GitOps models leveraging ArgoCD.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes cluster architecture and administration, Docker, microservices, and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Proven ability to deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters in production enterprise settings.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes tooling such as Helm, Kustomize, kubectl, and cluster management solutions.
- Experience in container orchestration patterns and cloud-native microservices design.
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or similar.
- Expertise using monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or ELK stack.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting, production support, and incident response.
- Development experience with automation scripts using Python, Shell scripting, or equivalent technologies.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.
- Prior exposure to collaborating with international teams across various time zones.
- Willingness to support global operations across different shifts as needed.
