Lead Data Modeler

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Lead Data Modeler to join our team and play a crucial role in shaping, maintaining, and advancing the organization's data architecture. This position involves upholding best practices, standards, and strategies while working closely with diverse teams to achieve organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, uphold, and refine information architecture best practices, guidelines, and principles in partnership with the Client's Data Strategy team.
• Lead data modeling projects and contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of data systems.
• Create and sustain conceptual, logical, and physical data models adhering to standardized data modeling guidelines.
• Ensure compliance of data models with relevant industry standards and best practices.
• Manage metadata within the enterprise data catalog solution effectively.
• Assess data modeling features in commercial software before acquisition.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and the wider data community on data strategy, standards, and principles.
• Ensure that security and compliance requirements are met within the scope of Enterprise Information Architecture.
• Work collaboratively with business stakeholders, IT, architecture teams, and contractors to design data models that fulfill business needs.
• Promote and enforce adherence to best practices by conducting thorough data design reviews across the development lifecycle.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• University degree equivalent to a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer or Life Sciences.
• Over seven years of professional experience, especially including business analysis activities such as business process reengineering, requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, and change management.
• Minimum of one year in a leadership role.
• Hands-on experience with Data Analytics, SQL, and Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence tools.
• Expertise in Data Modeling with proficiency in creating ERWIN diagrams.
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written) at at least a B2 proficiency level.

Desirable Attributes

• More than two years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, ideally in commercial IT functions.
• Familiarity with Agile workflow methodologies and team coordination practices.
• Knowledge of Collibra data governance platform.
