Position Overview

The Junior Project Control Engineer – Aviation will work under the guidance of the Senior Project Control Manager to support planning, scheduling, monitoring progress, cost control, forecasting, risk management, and reporting for airport infrastructure projects. This includes terminals, airside and landside works, cargo facilities, utilities, and airport systems. The role involves maintaining integrated project schedules, tracking performance, coordinating updates from multiple stakeholders, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Key Duties

  • Create and regularly update integrated schedules for airport projects using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Assist in developing baseline schedules, detailed work programs, recovery and look-ahead plans.
  • Perform schedule variance reviews and impact assessments related to delays or changes.
  • Track project progress against approved plans and aggregate data from various project teams.
  • Monitor milestones, interfaces, commissioning activities, and handover deadlines.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, including dashboards and key performance indicators.
  • Support cost tracking, forecasting, earned value management, and performance reporting.
  • Analyze differences between physical and financial progress, flagging risks and mitigation needs.
  • Manage risk registers, change logs, and action trackers.
  • Review schedules, reports, resource allocations, and recovery plans submitted by contractors and consultants.
  • Verify progress claims by comparing reported status with actual site achievements and evaluate contractor productivity.
  • Facilitate coordination between consultants, contractors, and stakeholders for updates and issue resolution.
  • Maintain project control documentation, databases, and reporting systems.
  • Contribute to deployment of digital project control tools, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Ensure adherence to project control processes and timely delivery of control documentation.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project for schedule management.
  • Experience in planning, scheduling, and project controls methodologies.
  • Ability to monitor progress and compile management reports effectively.
  • Knowledge of cost control, forecasting, and Earned Value Management practices.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and delay analysis approaches.
  • Skills in Power BI, advanced Excel, and data analytics techniques.
  • Experience with document control and project reporting platforms.
  • Strong coordination and interface management skills among diversified stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Capability to work under tight timelines in a multidisciplinary airport setting.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a relevant field.
  • Certifications or training in Primavera P6, MS Project, PMP, or similar project management tools are advantageous.
  • Between 10 and 15 years of overall experience in Project Controls, Planning, Scheduling, and Cost Management.
  • At least 5 years' experience specifically on aviation projects covering airport terminals, airside and landside infrastructure, cargo facilities, utilities, support buildings, and airport systems.
  • Proven background in creating and overseeing integrated project schedules, reporting systems, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Experience working collaboratively with consultants, contractors, airport system vendors, and clients.
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management, risk management, forecasting, and schedule performance analysis.
