Java Backend Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain backend services leveraging Core Java, SpringBoot, and RESTful and streaming API servers. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, focusing on building seamless client-server interactions for web applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and sustain backend applications using modern Java technologies and frameworks including SpringBoot and API architectures.
• Work closely with fellow backend engineers to ensure smooth integration with front-end web interfaces through efficient API development.
• Engage in code and design peer reviews to uphold high standards of software quality and performance.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Project Managers in translating business requirements into effective functional features.
• Participate in code deployments, release management, and operational duties on a rotating schedule, emphasizing automation and progressive enhancement of build and deployment pipelines.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in modern Java programming with experience in unit and integration testing using frameworks such as JUnit.
• Experience with developer tools such as Bitbucket (Git), Jira, and Confluence.
• Familiarity with Linux environments, shell scripting, security concepts, and SQL-based databases.
• Knowledge of DevOps toolchains including Jenkins, SonarQube, Veracode, and Artifactory is essential.
• Effective adaptability to changing requirements and the ability to function collaboratively within a dynamic team setting.
• Experience in financial industry projects is a plus; however, a keen willingness to learn is critical.
• Experience or exposure to agent-based coding assistant tools is an advantage.
