Overview

Help at Home is currently recruiting compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals to provide in-home support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Magee, MS community. This full-time, onsite role involves delivering personalized care and enabling individuals to live as independently as possible.

The company offers competitive compensation with hourly wages ranging from $13 to $15, paid weekly, along with flexible scheduling, paid training, opportunities for career advancement, health benefits, paid time off, and cash bonuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with essential daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, and transportation.
  • Promote social involvement by encouraging participation in community activities including shopping and social events.
  • Support clients in achieving personal goals and celebrate milestones in their development.
  • Foster autonomy by promoting choice, independence, and self-advocacy for the individuals served.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided, daily activities, and client progress.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure cohesive and consistent support.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a background check and completion of mandated training.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance (primary or secondary).
  • Ability to work respectfully and safely within the clients’ homes and community environments.
  • Demonstrated compassion, responsibility, and motivation to positively impact individuals' lives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism, including familiarity with Individual Activity Support Plans and Plans of Service and Supports.
  • Skill in implementing foundational behavior support techniques such as redirection, use of visual prompts, and environmental adjustments.
