Job Overview

The Industrial Engineer supports process evaluation and system analysis aimed at identifying cost-saving opportunities, enhancing efficiency, and improving quality. The role involves boosting manufacturing productivity, enhancing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), optimizing resource usage (assets, labor, expenses) by measuring current performance levels, and leading continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen. Ensuring adherence to food safety and quality standards and managing consumer activities at the factory are key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and comply with health, safety, food safety, and environmental procedures to maintain a safe workplace and understand individual legal duties.
• Possess thorough knowledge of material handling ergonomics.
• Contribute to minimizing environmental footprint and reduce costs related to utilities, chemicals, and waste through eco-efficient operations.
• Promote a safe working environment including food safety measures and actively participate in hazard reporting within the factory.
• Monitor product quality against standards, promptly report defects in products or packaging, detect process anomalies, and take emergency corrective actions. Conduct basic quality inspections proficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout production operations.
• Ensure machinery safety and conduct Corrective Quality System (CRQS) activities as per scheduled frequency.
• Operate machinery according to instructions to maximize efficiency while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Set process parameters correctly and make necessary adjustments to prevent deviation from product specifications; maintain machine and line cleanliness using standard cleaning procedures and 5S methodology.
• Perform minor machine troubleshooting and adjustments.
• Carry out machine blend and format changeovers efficiently.
• Engage actively in continuous improvement projects like Kaizen and prioritize reducing production losses.
• Operate various technologies effectively within the manufacturing environment.
• Escalate any safety, quality, or productivity non-compliance issues promptly to the Manufacturing Coordinator or Team Leader.
• Undertake other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills Required

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing or the FMCG sector, adhering to high safety, quality, and GMP standards.
• Experience with teabag manufacturing technologies (e.g., Perfecta, IMA), filling, overwrapping, and case packing for at least one year is preferable.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team-oriented manufacturing setting.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including factory operations, shutdowns, and training periods.
• Capacity to adapt quickly to changes on the production line.
• Self-driven with dedication to personal and team development.
• Ability to align work output with company standards and expectations.
• Demonstrates initiative and punctuality.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.
• Fundamental mechanical knowledge coupled with problem-solving abilities relevant to factory operations.
• Proficiency in English communication (speaking, reading, writing) and mathematics.
