Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Backend Engineer responsible for designing and implementing the backend services and APIs that support our product. This position emphasizes creating scalable data systems and making infrastructure decisions that impact the user-facing experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop backend services, APIs, and data architectures.
- Design data models and scalable APIs consistent with product growth.
- Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with thoughtful architecture.
- Identify and fix issues related to system performance and stability.
- Review code contributions from peers and influence architectural directions.
- Collaborate closely with frontend, infrastructure, and product teams.
Qualifications
- Over three years of experience creating production-grade backend systems.
- Expertise in at least one backend programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or Node.js.
- Strong knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of system design principles.

Additional Information
Compensation is competitive and is determined according to experience, qualifications, and location, with an approximate range from $105,000 to $170,000 USD equivalent, plus benefits.
