Application Operations Lead

Overview

The Application Operations Lead will oversee daily operations and design for critical applications essential to organizational services. This role involves proactive monitoring, automation efforts, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure optimal application performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple organizational applications ensuring scalability, reliability, and availability.
• Develop and implement application operations strategies working closely with application owners and users.
• Design and maintain monitoring systems for relevant applications.
• Ensure compliance with IAM, PAM, and cybersecurity policies affecting applications.
• Offer technical assistance and insights to development and application teams.
• Analyze application usage patterns to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Create dashboards that highlight application availability and downtime.
• Produce monthly SLA uptime reports for applications.
• Document application deployment processes, cold-start procedures, and identify critical services.
• Utilize Microsoft Active Directory knowledge to support application delivery to end users.
• Monitor application adoption and suggest enhancements.
• Build strong relationships with internal clients to understand application usage needs.
• Develop and maintain technical standards, service documents, and process guidelines related to applications.
• Engage in root cause analyses to resolve issues impacting application service reliability and reduce downtime.
• Plan and coordinate application maintenance activities.
• Contribute knowledge to internal support teams and knowledge systems.
• Ensure technology delivery meets service level agreements from project initiation through to application management.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Commit to continuous learning and certifications.
• Lead process automation initiatives using scripting and tools such as Ansible to streamline tasks and enhance quality.
• Write code using languages such as PowerShell, Visual Basic, JavaScript, Python, C#, HTML, HTML5, and ASP.
• Improve system efficiency and maintain software/system updates.
• Support patch planning, deployment, and full system restarts as necessary.
• Learn from system outages to refine processes and increase application uptime.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Preferably holds an ITIL v3 or higher Foundation certification.

Experience Requirements
