Job Overview

The Product Software division at Equinix focuses on developing advanced software products and architectural solutions for their platform and service offerings. This role requires engineers who can develop consistent microservice-based APIs, manage multi-consumer interactions, and simplify complex enterprise workflows. The primary duties involve designing and implementing platform services and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and usage patterns. Collaborative problem solving, advanced design skills, and a strong commitment to quality are vital.

Responsibilities

• Shape technical strategies and oversee the development of modular, event-driven, scalable microservices that support enterprise workflows.
• Create reusable frameworks and autonomous modules to streamline service onboarding, configuration, and lifecycle management.
• Utilize AI technologies to enhance software design, testing, and operational processes, including AI-assisted code reviews, test case generation, and troubleshooting.
• Work hand-in-hand with senior architects and cross-discipline teams on architecture decisions within domains like customer management, billing, pricing, and commerce.
• Encourage design methodologies that enhance maintainability, observability, and operational excellence.
• Lead by example in building secure, reliable, and easy-to-monitor systems that fulfill performance and scalability objectives.
• Advocate and implement best practices in API-first development, continuous integration/continuous deployment automation, and DevSecOps principles.
• Partner with product managers and colleagues to convert business requirements into scalable technical designs.
• Drive automation and AI-powered monitoring tools to enhance system reliability and expedite issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience in designing, developing, and managing scalable cloud-native applications leveraging Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, and React.js.
• Proven expertise in creating microservices, RESTful APIs, and operating distributed systems in live environments.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming paradigms, software design concepts, architectural frameworks, and API creation.
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including skills in data modeling and optimizing database performance.
• Background in building and maintaining SaaS/PaaS cloud-centric products at scale.
• Hands-on familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and contemporary DevOps workflows.
• Experience applying Generative AI and AI-augmented development tools for boosting software delivery, quality, and engineering efficiency.
• Competence in assessing technical trade-offs, contributing to architectural decisions, and managing solutions through full lifecycle implementation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to convey complex technological ideas to diverse groups.
• Python fluency is advantageous, particularly for automation, data handling, backend services, or AI-related projects.
• Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent practical background.
