Job description

Job Overview

The Machine Operator position involves receiving daily work instructions from the Operations Manager or Team Lead and operating assigned manufacturing machines after thorough training. The role requires adherence to established procedures and safety protocols within the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various manufacturing equipment including cutting, threading, header, and bending machines.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Perform quality control checks as per posted standards on each machine.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness in the designated work area.
  • Complete necessary documentation as directed by management.
  • Use forklifts for loading and transporting materials.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Certification to operate forklifts.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience working with warehouse machinery and forklift operation.
  • Ability to accurately identify parts for processing on assigned machines.
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and mathematical abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of TFI and OSHA safety guidelines.

Physical Demands

  • Capability to lift up to 75 pounds for over four hours per shift.
  • Endure working in variable temperature environments such as hot, humid, or cold conditions.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and perform bending, crawling, crouching, kneeling, and stooping for extended periods within a shift.
  • Climbing ladders for multiple hours each shift.
  • Capability to sit, stand, and walk for over six hours during a shift.
  • Perform detailed manual tasks such as grasping, pushing, pulling, fine manipulation, and sensory functions for extended periods.
  • Operate foot pedals for several hours during a shift.
  • Ability to distinguish sounds clearly, communicate effectively, and visually identify objects and equipment.
