Job description
Role Summary
Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of Blue Yonder's advanced, cloud-native Supply Chain Data Platform. This position focuses on creating scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant microservices while working closely with global teams to maintain technical quality and operational excellence.
Current Technology Stack
- Programming & Frameworks: Java, Spring Boot, Gradle, Hibernate, REST APIs, OAuth, GraphQL, Scala, Spark
- Data & Storage: Snowflake, Elasticsearch, NoSQL databases, RDBMS
- Architecture: Cloud-native, event-driven, multi-tenant microservices emphasizing scalability and high availability
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Microsoft Azure (including AKS, ARM Templates, Azure AD, Event Hub, Application Gateway, Virtual Networks, HDInsight), Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines
- Other tools: Kafka, Ignite, Git, DevOps automation
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and software development of the next-gen Supply Chain Data Platform using microservices and event-driven patterns.
- Work closely with Product Management, Professional Services, and international engineering teams to convert requirements into robust, secure, and scalable solutions.
- Promote engineering best practices including clean coding, architecture review, performance tuning, code reviews, continuous integration/continuous deployment enhancement, automation, and stability improvements.
- Mentor engineering staff, support recruitment activities, spearhead technical discussions, troubleshoot production issues through root cause analysis, and consistently enhance the platform's reliability and developer efficiency.
- Participate in on-call rotations providing backend support, incident resolution, and ongoing platform improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST API design, OAuth, Kafka, Snowflake, and cloud-native development primarily on Microsoft Azure or similar environments.
- Demonstrated track record in designing scalable, multi-tenant SaaS platforms using distributed microservices, event-driven approaches, Kubernetes, Docker, and adopting DevOps methodologies.
- Expertise in Big Data and distributed systems technologies including Spark, Scala, Elasticsearch, along with proficiency in NoSQL and relational databases and optimizing for performance and high availability.
- Strong leadership in software architecture, secure development practices, mentoring, code review, Agile processes, and fostering continuous engineering improvements.
