Lead AI Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Lead AI Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and deployment of advanced Generative AI and large language model (LLM) solutions. This role demands a technically proficient and hands-on professional capable of guiding AI engineering teams and projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and drive the creation, testing, and implementation of AI and Generative AI technologies.
• Design and develop architectures for LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, and AI automation tools.
• Lead efforts in prompt engineering, evaluate model performance, and optimize outputs.
• Convert business needs into scalable and viable AI-driven solutions.
• Integrate LLMs with corporate APIs, databases, and other software applications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to AI and machine learning engineers.
• Develop and enforce best practices for AI development, testing workflows, deployment procedures, and governance standards.
• Work collaboratively with both business and technical teams to ensure successful AI project implementations.

Experience and Skills Required

• A minimum of 6 to 8 years experience in AI, machine learning, AI engineering, or closely related fields.
• Hands-on proficiency with Generative AI, large language models, RAG, and AI agent technologies.
• Strong command over Python programming.
• Experience working with LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, or equivalents.
• Familiarity with AI development frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar.
• Proven skills in AI model evaluation and deploying models into production environments.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing AI-focused projects or teams.
• Excellent architectural design capabilities, problem-solving aptitude, and ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
• Experience working in Qatar or the GCC region is advantageous.
