About the Role

Qscan Group is seeking a highly skilled Group Accountant to join their Finance team in Brisbane, Queensland. This full-time permanent position, based at the Clayfield Support Office, features hybrid working flexibility and offers an excellent career opportunity within a leading national healthcare organization.

As a crucial member of the finance function, you will oversee financial planning, reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, and analysis across the Group's corporate entities. You will deliver timely financial reports and ensure adherence to statutory requirements while collaborating closely with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheet reconciliations and profit & loss reports for corporate entities.
  • Analyze financial results versus budgets and prior periods to highlight trends and provide insights.
  • Develop consolidated financial reports on a monthly, half-yearly, and annual basis, covering management accounts and statutory submissions.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Compile weekly Group cash flow reports.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process.
  • Manage Group capital expenditure reporting.
  • Prepare annual financial statements compliant with IFRS and regulatory standards.
  • Support quarterly banking covenant compliance reporting.
  • Assist with half-year and year-end audits, liaising with external auditors.
  • Handle Group taxation duties including income tax, FBT, and GST compliance.
  • Support the annual Group insurance renewal procedure.
  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting processes across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.

Candidate Profile

  • CPA or CA qualification required.
  • Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm and corporate finance background.
  • Several years of hands-on Australian tax experience, including tax returns, FBT, and GST.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles and taxation frameworks, both statutory and managerial.
  • Excellent communication skills with the aptitude to work collaboratively within teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and value-adding activities.
  • Proven ability to earn trust and build partnerships with business leaders and external stakeholders.
