Job description
Position Overview
The Apparel Processing Associate is tasked with managing the complete handling of all clothing merchandise shipments from initial receipt to placing items on the sales floor and organizing receiving areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Process all incoming apparel items efficiently, following Visual Merchandising and Merchandise Presentation Standards using the inventory system (50% of role).
- Systematically replenish merchandise on the sales floor according to Visual Merchandising standards using the inventory management system (10%).
- Stay informed about ongoing promotions and sales to support effective backroom organization and restocking efforts (10%).
- Assist with unloading delivery trucks as necessary (10%).
- Help maintain pricing and merchandise signage (5%).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-supplied work area (5%).
- Ensure backstock areas are well-organized and easily accessible (5%).
- Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience (5%).
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- No prior work experience required.
Skills and Knowledge
- Competency in using company systems such as System Two, RF/Gizmo devices, and Point of Sale registers.
- Ability to understand and apply planograms, visual merchandising guides, and standards.
- Capability to analyze replenishment reports to organize merchandise effectively.
- Strong communication skills with customers and team members.
- Ability to cultivate positive working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
Physical and Work Environment
- Regular walking, standing, and computer work required.
- Occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
- Use of ladders or lifts as needed.
- Predominantly active job with little sitting involved.
Independence and Decision-Making
Work is performed under broad supervision, following established procedures, with occasional independent decision-making to resolve issues and improve processes. Recommendations for procedure and policy adjustments are often made.
