Job Overview
The Freight Broker is responsible for overseeing freight movement across the United States by facilitating coordination between shippers and carriers. This role involves negotiating shipping rates, ensuring on-time deliveries, and nurturing strong business relationships.
Key Duties
- Organize the coordination of shipments between shippers and carriers
- Develop and maintain a dependable network of carriers
- Negotiate pricing and terms for freight services
- Monitor shipments and address any issues that arise
- Keep customers informed with regular communication and updates
- Ensure adherence to all applicable U.S. freight regulations
- Maintain precise records and documentation related to shipments
Qualifications
- At least six months experience in U.S. freight brokerage or logistic operations
- Understanding of freight processes and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Capability to work night shifts in a fast-moving environment
- Experience with load boards, freight software systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office
