Position Overview

At Nua Healthcare Services, our commitment to excellence is reflected in our modern residential facilities and engaging day care programs. The Assistant Support Worker will join a skilled team supporting individuals with diverse and complex needs such as autism, Asperger syndrome, acquired brain injuries, challenging behaviour, intellectual disabilities including Alzheimer's or dementia, mental health rehabilitation, and personality disorders. The role is vital in empowering these individuals to realize their full potential and lead enriched, independent lives within their communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals in planning and managing daily routines and activities
  • Support participation and engagement within local communities
  • Help achieve educational and personal development goals
  • Foster independent living skills, including cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, and maintaining social/family connections
  • Adhere strictly to organisational policies, standards, and codes of practice
  • Work flexible shifts across a 24-hour, seven-day schedule to meet service users’ needs

Candidate Requirements

  • No formal qualifications required; comprehensive training and continued development will be provided
  • Previous support role experience or relevant life experience is favourable but not mandatory
  • Positive outlook, eagerness to learn, and sincere passion for enhancing individuals' independence and quality of life
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with clients, families, colleagues, and professionals
  • Valid full driving licence, or active pursuit toward obtaining one
  • Reliability and flexibility to work varied shifts according to service demands
