Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Asset Manager to oversee a variety of asset and maintenance projects within the Wellington region. This full-time onsite position involves managing property assets and maintenance programmes from initial planning stages through to successful delivery. Reporting to the Manager – Regional Assets, you will collaborate closely with both internal teams and external partners to ensure the homes under our care remain compliant, well-maintained, and aligned with the needs of our communities.

Key Duties

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of asset and maintenance projects across the Wellington region.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaborations to ensure asset physical and financial performance standards are met or exceeded.
  • Engage with stakeholders to influence and negotiate solutions that protect and enhance housing assets.
  • Deliver small to medium-scale asset management and project initiatives efficiently and effectively.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Relevant qualifications in Property Management, Valuation, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing property assets, maintenance programmes, and property-related projects.
  • Strong analytical abilities to assess financial and technical data and develop actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with property legislation such as the Fencing Act, Resource Management Act, Residential Tenancies Act, and Unit Titles Act.
  • Experience preparing comprehensive options analyses, business cases, and formal reports.
  • Capability to identify risks, resolve complex challenges, and implement practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proven success in influencing and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with Oracle procurement systems is advantageous.
