Role Overview
The position available is a full-time, on-premises Video Director based in Kano State, Nigeria. This role entails comprehensive management of video content production from conception through to final post-production. The Video Director will liaise with creative, editorial, and marketing units to guarantee alignment of projects with brand identities and campaign objectives, organize cast and crew logistics, and supervise production timelines and resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the entire video production process including concept creation, storyboarding, directing filming, and overseeing post-production.
- Coordinate with teams to ensure projects meet predetermined brand and campaign goals.
- Manage cast, crew, schedule, and production assets effectively on set and off set.
- Ensure superior audio-visual quality standards are met throughout production.
- Provide well-defined direction during shoots and maintain coherent messaging consistent with the company’s mission.
- Evaluate edited video cuts, offer constructive feedback to editors, and finalize content for digital and broadcast use.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven expertise in video direction and film production, with demonstrated leadership on sets and in creating a creative vision.
- Practical experience in video production encompassing camera operation, lighting design, and sound management.
- Proficiency in video editing, including guiding or performing edits utilizing industry-standard editing software.
- Experience producing video content for the media, advertising sectors, or similar fields; familiarity with Islamic finance or halal industry is beneficial.
- Strong ability to interpret strategic goals into compelling visual storytelling for varied audiences.
- Excellent communication and leadership aptitudes, with effective teamwork and organizational skills to manage time and projects efficiently.
- Willingness to work onsite in Kano State, Nigeria, including flexibility for local travel and occasionally working extended hours during production phases.
- Educational background in film, media, communications, or an equivalent professional history.
